Work Package 3: High resolution study on the prevalence of risk factors in breast cancer patients

Work package 3 provides retrospective and prospective studies to define the unknown prevalence of risk factors in the European population of breast cancer patients, studying the connection between cancer and other, concomitant diseases that share the same risk factors and influence both the development and progression of breast cancer.

More specifically, the work package's goals are the following :

  • Updated cancer incidence data are lacking for Greece developing a pilot population-based cancer registry for breast cancer based on the Open Registry methods developed by INT
  • Mapping of breast cancer risk factors
  • Mapping national initiatives for breast cancer prevention
  • Data analysis and dissemination of results

The WP3 is jointly led by FONDAZIONE IRCCS ISTITUTO NAZIONALE DEI TUMORI and AZIENDA OSPEDALIERA UNIVERSITARIA POLICLINICO PAOLO GIACCONE DI PALERMO.
